Competitive Compensation Because we recognize that our people come first, we regularly review our salary structure for market competitiveness. Performance evaluations are given every 6 months or annually depending on the position.
Promoting from Within/Internal Job Posting Program Promoting from within is our primary recruitment source. Opportunities are routinely communicated to our employees through our weekly newsletters. Our program encourages employees to apply for promotional opportunities, relocate to different cities and learn new skills.
Medical Coverage Employees are offered a very affordable medical plan for employees and their families.
Dental Coverage Dental coverage includes preventative, basic, major and orthodontic care.
Life Insurance Group term life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment benefits are provided to eligible employees at no cost. Employees may also elect to purchase supplemental life insurance for themselves, their spouse and their children.
Short-Term Disability Provided to all employees at no cost, for their financial protection in emergency situations.
Flexible Spending Accounts, Section 125 We offer both a Health Care Reimbursement Account and a Dependent Care Reimbursement Account. Eligible employees may contribute on a pre-tax basis. Medical and dental insurance premiums are automatically paid before taxes. These pre-tax deductions save our employees significant dollars each year on their taxes.
401(k) Plan Our plan is designed to help employees prepare for the future. Eligible employees may contribute up to 15% of their pay to the plan on a pre-tax basis. A company match is also offered and is 100% vested from the first day of eligibility. Rollovers are accepted from the employee’s former employer’s qualified plan.
Tuition Reimbursement Sunstate encourages self-improvement through financial assistance for technical and university education.
Vacation Employees earn vacation based on their years of service. We offer two to five weeks, depending on tenure.
Vacation Overtime Averaging Vacation shouldn’t result in reduced pay! Sunstate pays its non-exempt (hourly) employees overtime while they are vacationing.
Sick Time Non-exempt employees earn time off for personal illness throughout the year. We also provide a Wellness Incentive Bonus to reward employees for not using their earned sick time!!
Holidays We offer 6 paid holidays and 2 floating holidays each year to eligible employees.
5 Day Work Week – Closed Weekends Sunstate believes in a balanced life. Our branches are closed on weekends so employees can enjoy their family and friends.
Suggestion Program Sunstate believes in challenging yourself and the company in order to grow. We have developed an Employee Suggestion Program that pays you for your approved suggestions. We are the recipient of two International Awards for the effectiveness of our program and have paid out over $50,000 to our employees for their approved suggestions since 1995. Our average approval rate is 40% and we are one of the only companies where the owner is the only person who can deny a suggestion!
