What’s with the Cactus?
Sunstate’s iconic logo—a sunrise over a saguaro—is a reminder of our humble mom-and-pop roots in Phoenix, Arizona. Like Cascade, Sunstate started and grew as a family-owned and operated business, surrounded by a team of dedicated long-time employees.
Our founder, Mike Watts, retired in 2017, and his son, Chris Watts, has been at the helm as CEO & President ever since. And, yes, we still have several of our original team members, including Sunstate’s very first employee from 1977, working alongside our growing team.
